HISTORY OF LEARNING COMMUNITY SOUTH:

Mid-TN Supported Living, Inc. and Cumberland Community Options, Inc, have always had a strong partnership, both formally and informally.  One does not have to look very hard to see evidence of this incredible partnership.  Cumberland Community Options, Inc. was created through a mentoring effort by Mid-TN Supported Living, Inc.  Both organizations are highly committed to the principles and practice of person centered planning.

In the Summer of 2003, Denine Hunt, Former Director of Mid-TN Supported Living and Noal Presley, Former Director of Cumberland Community Options attended a gathering of Essential Lifestyle Planning Trainers in Portland, OR.  Following the gathering, Noal and Denine met to discuss how to apply the learning that took place within their respective agencies.  This meeting resulted in a shared vision that stretched beyond the boundaries of Mid-TN Supported Living and Cumberland Community Options to LEARNING COMMUNITY SOUTH.
